The Radcliffe Arms is a Victorian pub in Hitchin, on the corner of
Walsworth and Verulam Road. It was built around 1855.
The name is in honour of the Radcliffe family, who occupied the
Priory Estate from 1548 and played an important part in the social
and cultural development of the town.
Thankfully saved from another residential development, the pub is
now undergoing extensive refurbishment to bring it back to its former
glory, celebrating all that's great about traditional Great British pubs;
cracking food, the best real ales, beers and fine wines, all served up in
an atmosphere that just cannot be matched.
